Shootin' Pumpkins

This Halloween Cam and I wanted to start a fun little family tradition. Fortunately, Cam made up for
my lack of creativity and suggested that we go pumpkin shooting, sounds like fun, right?! Before I
knew it, we were the proud owners of a brand new shotgun and a lesser bank account. He picked
me up from school and we headed down to this big shooting range about 20 minutes outside of
Rexburg.

After we I set up our targets it was time to get shootin'. Cam shot first and made it look
easy so I push him aside and told him to watch my perfect shot. Okay, well first he had to help me
actually load the gun and cock it, and then this happened

But hey, I hit the can of root beer so I call it a success! It was definitely beginners luck though
because it took me about 5 more rounds to even hit my pumpkin! After a fair amount of frustration,
half a box of ammo, and Cam wondering how bad I could actually be at shooting,  I scooted up
to about ten feet away from the pumpkin and finally destroyed it.

We decided to take Herschel because eventually Cam wants to take him on hunting trips and he needs
to be okay around guns. Every time Cam shot though, Herschel would get spooked and jump up and
literally hold onto my leg! It was probably the cutest thing he has ever done.

The only thing that would distract him was a hearty game of fetch. Why didn't we think of that
before? Gosh, I love this pup:)

Cam finished off the day by shooting at this little tin^ we found that I threw into the air. Just to
frustrate him, I told him that he missed it every time because that's just what a loving wife does:)

That night we grabbed some Costa Vida (my favorite, not Cam's), and watched a scary movie
because, Halloween. Needless to say, I fell asleep about halfway through (one of Cam's biggest pet
peeves - sorry babe). Does anyone else just get bored waiting for movies to actually get to the plot?
Just me? Probably.

Now that Halloween has passed, I'm getting overly excited for Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see all of
Cam's family; there is never a dull moment with them. 24 days till we go to Washington, not that I'm
counting:)
